Drawing inspiration from these words, Unique Destinations has taken over 65 of its own escorted small group tours to destinations around the globe often to where mass tourism does not venture.
The collection of past tours include Patagonia, Machu Picchu and the Amazon in South America, Ethiopia and Kenya in Africa, multi-country tours in Europe, Iran and the Silk Road region of the middle east, to the Gobi Desert, China, Mongolia, India and Bhutan of Asia.
Each tour is tailored to the group’s preferences of experiences and has allowed our groups to truly immerse themselves in their passions from the theme of music, in-depth history, architectural and textile interests, to horticulture wonders.

BHUTAN 2025
Provisional – April to May – Fully Booked
Spring tour to Bhutan – the most authentic country in the world nestling between India & Tibet.
Besides visiting the main cultural towns of Paro, Thimpu, Punakha, Phobjika, Trongsa and Bumthang, our journey will include some very unique side valleys rich in Rhododendrons in this mountainous Buddhist kingdom, the size of Switzerland. A two night stay in the Trumshing La National Park is included.
The tour is designed to offer a range of beautiful walks and hikes in the valleys, mountains and national park. As travel is largely in 4 x 4’s we can vary the length of walks. For those who prefer not to walk we will arrange alternative sightseeing. Bhutan is the home of unique textiles as weaving is widely practiced.
PATAGONIA 2025
November – (limited to 10 persons)
This tour was designed to showcase the wonderful natural variety of the Patagonian area has to offer.
Starting in Buenos Aires (Argentina) to experience the highlights and culture of the city.
To Bariloche to visit a plethora of stunning lakes & forests where we will do walks, roadtrips and a cruise by private boat on the lakes whilst there.
Moving into Chile and famous Torres Del Paine National Park where we spend days exploring the area.
Crossing back into Argentina to El Calafate to visit the amazing Perito Moreno Glacier.
We moved north back to Buenos Aires as a stop over to towards the final destination of the tour, the enriching experience at the spectacular Iguazu Falls where we will spend several days exploring both sides of the magnificent waterfalls.
NORTH INDIA

Crossroads of High Asia – Leh, Nubra & Zanskar
After a magnificent flight over the Himalayas we spend time in Leh to acclimatise before crossing the Khardung La, the highest motorised pass in the world to the Nubra Valley. This picturesque valley was once an integral part of the trade route between China and Central Asia. After exploring this remote, beautiful area we return to Leh and head to western Ladakh and Zanskar. En-route we experience rafting on the Zanskar river to the confluence of the might Indus and Zanskar rivers at Nimu.
For hikers we offer a 3-day trek to Padum through central Zanskar with its ancient monasteries. The non-hikers will explore Temisgam village before embarking on a 3 day 4 x 4 drive to Padum through the spectacular Suru valley. From Padum we all return to Leh through high passes, old villages and past magnificent mountains – this is truly a remote but unique area where time hangs.
